Astral Hills Agro Resort is a registered agro-tourism estate in Velhe, Western Ghats, Pune — 60 acres of working agricultural land surrounding a luxury resort built for the people who own it.

A 5-acre resort at the centre. 110 individually owned agricultural parcels surrounding it. One founding community of estate members who hold freehold title to their land, have their parcels farmed on their behalf, and belong to a place deliberately built to last generations.

The resort operates the farming programme, the farm-to-table restaurant, the wellness centre, the heritage and fort trek calendar, and the full estate services — not for visitors who check in and check out, but for 110 founding estate members who own the surrounding land and return to this valley as their own.

The Velhe valley sits at 850 metres in the Western Ghats, with three Maratha forts visible on the horizon and near-zero light pollution. The local families who have farmed this soil for generations are permanently employed by the resort.

Farmer Programme

Most children who grow up in Indian cities have never seen a seed become food, negotiated a price, or understood where the vegetables on their plate came from. The Astral Kids Farmer Programme is a curated workshop series — arranged on demand — designed to teach them exactly that.

Three age tracks: Little Farmers (5–8), Earth Lab (9–13), and Young Builders (14–17). Youngest learn soil and crops. Older children go deeper — water cycles, seasonal farming, rural economics. Young Builders covers agri-business thinking and the history of the landscape they are standing in.

Heritage Trails

Rajgad, Torna, and Sinhgad — three of the most significant Maratha-era hill forts in Maharashtra — are all visible from the Astral Hills estate on a clear morning. They are not a backdrop. They are the reason this valley matters.

A resident scholar-historian is on campus every weekend, and each month the estate runs a guided trek to one of the three forts — through the passes and across the terrain that Shivaji Maharaj once commanded. Members who have done the Rajgad trek in the post-monsoon season, when the Ghats are still green and the air is cold by evening, come back for it every year.
